Ink Drawing

My ink drawings follow the same route as the giclée print drawings, albeit in a different medium.   I prefer to work with a thin pen, drawing a continuous line, almost as a string, to creating the image.   Lines turn back on themselves and crisscross each other with cross hatching employed to visualise shadows.

Unlike the way the giclée print drawings are made, the aim when I do an ink on paper drawing is to do as much of the drawing in a single hand movement without lifting the nib.

I use ink drawings to explore subtle line variations on different textured paper.   In contrast to the thickly layered paintings, the ink drawings are delicate and subtly.   Simplicity and sparseness of line over continuous reworking. (All line drawings are available to purchase. I am also available if you would like to commission a work. Please contact me directly via email, and we can discuss the details)
